This photo shows a pre-1930 Zionist flag. I found it in the essay East of
Zion (https://aeon.co/essays/what-happened-to-the-ideal-of-multireligious-arab-modernity,
picture).
It is captioned "British and Zionist flags fly over an Arab village.
Photo
taken between 1898 and 1930. Courtesy the Matson Collection at the Library of
Congress". [The photo shows also a car from the 1910s. So it can be narrowed down to the years 1910–1930]
It resembles the flag in the
Larousse Dictionary, except the stripes run horizontally.
The photo
is black-and-white, of course, and has been taken with orthochromatic file,
which renders blues much lighter than they are, and renders red as almost black.
I would guess that the lower stripe is dark blue (approximately the same as the
blue of the Union Jack beside it), and the star is yellow.
